Q: What kind of rides does Prairiethunder do?

A: Our chapter does a variety of rides. Some are shorter Friday night dinner runs usually less than 60 miles one way.  Other Saturday and Sunday rides usually leave in in the morning and take most of the day and can be 200-300 miles.  We also do an annual "Tin Butt" ride that is 500 miles in a day and we have several overnight rides throughout the year.

Q: If I can't participate in the ride, can I still meet the group at the destination?
A: We understand that isn't always possible to ride with the group due to work and family schedules so we always welcome members and guests to meet us at our destinations.

Q: Do I have to own a Harley to attend a H.O.G. event?
A: Guests riding all makes of motorcycles are welcome at our rides and events. If you wish to become a member of our chapter, you must own a Harley-Davidson and be a member of national H.O.G.

Q: Do you allow guests at your meetings and events?
A: Yes, guests are welcome at all of our events, meetings and rides. If you are a guest at a ride you will be asked by the ride leader to sign a liability release.

Q: I have kids, is H.O.G. family friendly?
A: H.O.G. is very family friendly. All of our rides and events are about riding the best motorcycles in the world regardless of political or religious affiliation. We do not allow any alcohol or illegal substances on our rides. Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have a minor release form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Q: Are group rides safe for new riders?
A: There is no better place to learn safe group riding techniques than our H.O.G. chapter. Riding motorcycles is inherently risky, so we promote rider education and safe riding practices. If you are brand new to riding motorcycles, we recommend that you become comfortable with riding your bike before participating in a group ride. Once you are comfortable riding your motorcycle, H.O.G. chapter group rides are an excellent place to start learning about group riding. We ride in a staggered formation to ensure everyone has plenty of visibility and space to maneuver. Even on rides where we have a large turnout, we split up into smaller groups to make it easier to get through traffic lights and intersections. We obey all traffic laws and we never have any open road shootouts that you may have seen on "Sons of Anarchy".

Q: Why do I have to be a member of national H.O.G. to be in a chapter?
A: National H.O.G. membership is required in order to verify V.I.N. numbers to ensure that all members are owners of authentic Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Q: What are dues used for?
A: Dues are used for publishing and mailing expenses, patches, pins, officer training, event insurance, prizes, event decorations, event entertainment, and food. Our chapter is an incorporated 501c3 non-profit so everything we take in goes back out to the benefit of our members.

Q: When and where do you meet?
A: Our monthly chapter meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM at Twister City Harley-Davidson at the 53rd street exit in Park City.

Q: What is the relationship between Prairiethunder H.O.G. and Twister City Harley-Davidson?
A: All H.O.G. chapters have a sponsoring dealer. Our sponsoring dealer is Twister City Harley-Davidson. Twister City provides our chapter with a place to meet, financial support, merchandise donations, member discounts, special member only events, and much more.
